Announces Revision of Its Business Results Forecast
NTT DATA Corporation
NTT DATA Corporation hereby announces the following revision of its forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2010, announced on October 29, 2009. The revision is being made due to recent business trends.
- Revision of consolidated business results forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2010 (April 1, 2009, to March 31, 2010)
(Units: Millions of yen; %) Net sales Operating income Ordinary income Net income Net income per share Previous forecast (A) 1,170,000 90,000 86,000 47,000 16,755.79 Revised forecast (B) 1,140,000 75,000 70,000 34,500 12,299.47 Difference (B-A) (30,000) (15,000) (16,000) (12,500) - Percentage difference (%) (2.6) (16.7) (18.6) (26.6) - (Reference) Results of preceding fiscal period (ended March 31, 2009) 1,139,092 98,546 95,552 48,360 17,240.97 - Reasons for the revision
- Net Sales:
- We expect that although sales are supported by recent strong orders to some extent, the number of new M&As aimed at expanding overseas sales will be less than planned, and that revenues among existing subsidiaries will decline owing to the weak economy.
- Operating Income:
- We expect a decrease in operating income resulting from a drop in net sales and other factors, and also forecast an increase in selling, general and administrative expenses due in large part to temporary personnel shifts to deal with the economic downturn.
- As a result of these developments, the consolidated results forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2010 has been revised. The revisions in the forecasts of ordinary income and net income mainly result from a decrease in the operating income forecast.
- Note: The above forecast is based on the information available to the NTT DATA Group at the present time and on certain assumptions judged by the Group to be reasonable. Due to various unforeseen factors, actual results may differ from this forecast.
